Cutoff time for online booking for same-day reservations is 5pm. If you are interested in a room for tonight and it is currently past 5pm, do not book here as your reservation will not be honored. However, we encourage you to drop by as we do our best to accommodate walk-ins.

Lounge Area

Our lounge area is perfect for smaller groups, solos, or exhibitionists. Sit and relax with a cocktail and if the timing feels right, request a song at the bar. Karaoke in the lounge is $1 per song. Not much of a singer? Sit back and watch strangers give it their best shot.

Private Rooms

Please use the booking button on this page to make a private room reservation. Walk-ins are welcome but we do recommend reservations, especially for weekends and large groups. We only have 5 rooms and they tend to book quickly. All rooms have a one-hour minimum.

Rates after 9pm:

  • Room 1 (up to 10 people) – $40/hr
  • Room 2 (up to 20 people) – $80/hr
  • Room 3 (up to 10 people) – $40/hr
  • Room 4 (up to 20 people) – $80/hr
  • Room 5 (up to 16 people) – $60/hr

Rates before 9pm are all HALF PRICE!

 

Reservations

If you need to cancel your reservation, we ask that you notify us at least 24 hours in advance, if possible, by email (info@singboombox.com), phone (401-861-0040), or text (833-214-9482). We do not take any payment information ahead of time so there is no cancellation fee.

Policies

  • We are 21+ after 9 pm, all ages earlier.
  • We are not BYOB. No outside beverages are permitted. You will be charged $100 if you bring in any drinks not purchased at our bar and your drinks will be confiscated. Outside food, however, is fine. Just nothing too messy please!
  • One-hour minimum charge for a private room.
  • We will hold your room for 30 mins. If there is a reservation booked immediately after you, your time will be cut short, but your one-hour minimum charge will still be in effect.
  • We require a credit card when you arrive as collateral for the iPad and microphones in your room. Your card will only be charged in the event that you fail to return the equipment, damage the equipment intentionally, or leave without settling your bill.

The Boombox is Providence’s first and only karaoke lounge. Taking inspiration from the popular karaoke “boxes” in Korea and Japan, The Boombox is the perfect destination for birthdays, celebrations, or anyone looking for an alternative to another night at the corner bar. Located at The Dean Hotel, The Boombox offers both a lounge area as well as 5 private rooms.

In the lounge, you can sit quietly with a drink or, if your cocktail’s got you feeling bold, belt out a tune in front of your friends (and strangers). If you and your crew want your own space to let loose, book a private room by the hour and have complete control of your night. Each room has its own karaoke system complete with iPad control, TV, sound system, and thousands of frequently-updated songs to choose from.

We are located at The Dean Hotel at 122 Fountain Street in Downtown Providence. We are steps from Providence institutions new and old, including the Dunkin Donuts Center, Hasbro, The Providence Journal, AS220, and Trinity Rep.

Enter through The Dean lobby (don’t forget to say hi to our friends and lobby-neighbors The Dean Bar and Bolt Coffee) or via our own entrance from the side parking lot.

Hours:

The Boombox is open 5 nights a week:

Wednesday & Thursday: 5pm to 1am
Friday & Saturday: 5pm to 2am
Sunday: 7pm to 1am

Parking:

Parking is available in neighboring lots as well as in ample on-street spots. However, we always encourage the use of public transport, bike, or foot.
